What I would like is to have Gnutella client that is text based (using ncurses). LimeWire worked quite fine with my Compaq armada E500 with 256MB ram (until search results filled with ads). At the other hand sometimes there's just no choice but to use more 'heavy' programs. \īut as we are using DSL and first 'priority' is to have everything lightweight, java does not fufill that. I once ran it from command line (something like: java -jar frotwire.jar). Using Gnutella and BT I can find almost any file I want. Gnutella network is great for some p2p downloads.
